What transmission for my 2002 Honda accord coupe?
Alright boys I’ve moved on from twin turbo Camry to single eBay turbo accord and I’m not too worried about the engine internals, as I plan on running maybe 8PSI of boost and making around 200-230WHP or so for now (2.3L I4 Vtec engine)
HOWEVER, this car came with that lovely 4 speed automatic that no one really cares about. Shifting is pretty meh and the gear ratios are trash, but my biggest issue is the fact that there is no way it can handle more than like 200hp, so I need an alternative. Any ideas? It’s for a friend who has no idea how to drive stick and doesn’t really want to (I know, it’s unfortunate) so automatic would be preferable. Maybe a 5 or 6 speed? Maybe one of those HD early 2000’s Chevy impala transmissions? Never know what you can cram in there 🤷🏼
(edit)
also forgot to mention, not exactly rich over here so budget friendly options sound good too!
