2011 Honda CRV Code P0420
Hey guys, hope y'all are doing well.
My wife was driving home from work yesterday when our CRV's check engine light came on and threw code P0420. That is the catalytic converter code, but her car shows no symptoms (no lack of accel, no smell, gas mileage normal, etc). We could theoretically get it fixed for $2-4k, but I'm not sure there is any point given we don't have to pass an emissions test or anything. Do you all think that would be a good option, to ignore that until a symptom pops up (which could be a while with how little it will be driven, maybe 170 miles a week). What are y'alls thoughts? I want to do what's safest too, it just doesn't seem like this poses a threat to the car's function overall. Thanks in advance!
