91 Hatch, unfinished B18A swap, think i got burned
Just brought some a 2nd hatch, this one is got a mostly complete B18A swap, buuttttt i think its going to be the parts car for my other STD D15B7 4spd as this one appears to be a lost cause with the engine bay wiring.
Heres what i got
This is what was in the trunk. It looks like the original harness from the B18's original car?
Guy had this brand new harness but i dont think its the correct one, i THINK its ODB2 but can i use this with a jumper harness?
This was also in the trunk, i think its an OBD0-1 jumper? it doesnt connect to any harness i have or the ECM
Distributor
THIS IS HORRIBLE, no wire loom at all, cut wires everywhere plugs that i have no clue what there for
more random cut plugs. even the headlights are cut

Definitely a parts car.. looks like a can of worms that needs a lot of attention!! If the body is in good shape (mind the ugly fruity color scheme) and interior but judging with what's done.. I doubt it...
Salvage as much as you can for your other car for spare parts if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

Yeah for sure, ive been watching some of Rywires youtube videos and today i learnt i have an OBD0 ECU with an ODB2 harness and a B18A1 with an unknows trans. Haven't looked to see if its cable or hydro. Might just yank this engine, Axles, hubs and shift linkage and put it into my STD. its all uncut original so i know nothing has been cut up. will need to DPFI to MPFI it tho. interior is average but body is very very solid. Oh well, im sure i can swap the Si seats and gauge cluster into my STD with some guides on here. i just want a B series hatch man

Not sure why just bad wiring would make it a parts car, especially since you have an OEM OBDO engine wiring harness and an OBD2 Rywire harness sitting there. Looks like a few minor fixes and your existing parts could get you a running OBD0 setup with that OEM OBD0 harness, or an OBD0-OBD2 (either A or B) adapter and the Rywire harness. Or the correct A or B plug B18b ecu and dizzy and you could be well on your way to an OBD 2 setup.
It won't always be that bad but any of these cars you get will need some wiring help at this point, if not from someone messing with something and dooring a poor job wiring than because some old and brittle connector gave out and you need to replace it, might as well start learning.
If you don't plan on using it do you want to sell the Rywire harness? If so I might be interested.

Since the body is good as you say, engine is in, it wouldn't be that hard to rewire or replace what's been done. Like what's been said, learn a bit about the wiring and clean it up, organize and go from there.
Along with some matching paint lol

Rewiring is a massive PITA when you have to clean up god knows what mess the previous person did, and figure that nonsense out. That being said, I agree that if the car is otherwise straight it would be a worthy endeavor - certainly a great skill to learn as well.
My EG was in somewhat similar condition when I bought it. It wasn't until I pulled out ALL of the interior that I was really able to find everything that dipshit had cut into (pulled out even the HVAC and firewall insulation to get to everything).
