Is a J1 tranny same as the Y1 or S1 or what? or atleast is the j1 tranny a short gear ratio tranny??

 

S1/J1 trannies are the same gear ratios. For all intents and purposes, exactly the same . The Y1 tranny has a taller gear ratio, meaning more time spent in each gear and a lower overall final drive and cruising rpms.
