Default EGR feed tube / channel question

For you guys who have working knowledge of the head and exhaust setup on a 2000 accords f23a1 2.3l vtech 4cyl, I'm getting ready to clean my EGR valve feed from exhaust and to plenum pathways, and I haven't been able to find a clear diagram of the feed from exhaust. I read there are some with tubes from the exhaust manifold (not mine), and the other setup comes through a channel from the exhaust through the head (mine). Im wanting to know how far in I need to go to completely clean it out, but it's just an abstract idea to me and would like to know how long this feed channel is, are there bends in it, what's on the other side, is it just tapped off of the number 1 cylinder exhaust, etc. Anyone who could answer these questions and help me visualize this , I'd be glad to hear from you.

I have a good understanding of the channel from the valve to the plenum so no need to get into that part.

Default Re: EGR feed tube / channel question

For my 2000 Civic HX people said to use long craft pipe cleaners and go in as far as I could, but when I have watched mechanics clean out the EGR system I have only seen them use flathead screwdrivers and drill bits--not a drill, just the bit--to manually scrape out the carbon, with brake cleaner.
It seems like it doesn't collect deep inside, just what you can see.
I am sorry that I don't have a better answer! Good luck!
