Rsx type s K24a2 swap feedback-Thoughts
Well......
I should have done some research before I surprised my son with an 04 rsx type S. I thought I was buying his dream car (He's 17) and its turning into a bigger project than anticipated.
116k miles rust free which is very hard to come by in MN.
I guess I was so focused on trying to find rust or hidden body work that I didn't see the huge red flag in front of me. "2.4L" intake shield.....
Turns out the k20 had been swapped for a K24a2.
The car is still running the PRB A08 ECM which I'm seeing is a big no no. Car idles a little low but ultimately runs good.
I am chasing a squeak in the serpentine area. It only makes noise after the car has warmed up.
It has the power steering delete with electric conversion so I replaced the idler pulley on that .
I've replaced the belt and bypassed the AC but it still squeaks so I'm guessing its a water pump.
Replacing the pump, k20a thermostat and Tensioner idler tonight.(They used the k24 thermostat housing instead of the k20 so the lower hose is pinched a bit.)
Brake light fuse keeps blowing - Checked the bulbs and sockets- they look good-- Replacing the brake light switch and new bulbs tonight as well..
I guess my overall question is I am about to buy him the K pro so we can load in a TSX k24a2 file.
Is this going to mess with any of the sensors? I see they did use the k20A harness. I imagine they had to use the correct K20 crank sensor for it to run. I see they are using the 1 wire knock sensor.
We do have about 2 more months of winter and then it will get a dyno and street tune. I am just trying to keep it from blowing up

Ktuner or Hondata would be my recommendation. Load up a TSX tune and go.
The sensor and harness are all pretty much the same. No issues there.
That's a great swap. K24A2 is a ripper with broad torque.
