car keeps dying on the road, alternator issue?
97 Accord 2.2 F22B2
So my car keeps dying on the road, I don't know if there's a wiring issue or it's an alternator issue. I replaced both the battery and the alternator at the same time but it's still not charging the battery. When it dies, I'll charge it up and put it back in the car. Despite a fully charged battery I keep getting a reading of 12.7 volts when the cars running, then it gets lower the longer it runs and putting load on it. It should be 14 volts correct? I did some troubleshooting.
- There's voltage coming from the alternator harness (in the ON position, B/Y and W/G are good).
- There's voltage going to the fuse block via battery wire, battery fuse is okay.
- Tested the alternator wire for voltage on the fuse block while running, looks fine.
- Cleaned the ground wires on the valve cover and engine mount, didn't do anything so I attached alligator clips to the casing on the alternator to ground. Nothing seemed to change.
- The battery light shows up when it's in the ON position, so it does acknowledge the alternator is there.
- No engine codes for the ELD.
My battery was a little low when I installed the alternator, when I turned on the car the battery light stayed on for a bit then went away after I let it sit and charge up a little. All seemed well for a day and now it doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone have an idea what this could be or any other troubleshooting measures I can do? What's your opinions?

Update: don't really know why I didn't check this, but it was the wire that bolts into the front of the alternator. It was cooked, and broke when removing it. I cut off the bad end and crimped a new connection. Now I'm getting 14 volts.
Welp, I'd say it's fixed now.. lol
