Default k20 vs k24 mpg

Hey everyone, I plan on K swapping my 92 civic with a k20a/a2/z1/z3, I was just curious if the k24a1/a2/z2/z3/z6/z7 gets around the same mpg as those? I wanted to do the k20 swap because the engine is a little shorter which will improve handling and is 400cc smaller so id assume it gets better mileage than the k24, its also a few pounds lighter. I see alot more k24s in my area and a lot better priced so i was just wondering how much worse the mpg would be and if it would actually negatively effect handling. Also are there any k24's to stay away from?

Z stuff is challenging because you can't use the old school RSX ECUs. Have to run a newer ECU that probably doesn't have support. All because the crank position sensor is completely different in location and function.

Thank you!
If I get a k20z engine with the ecu that came with that engine everything else would be pretty much the same to swap correct?
Ive been looking at K-tuned EG swap kit (Id get hassport mounts though I hear theyre much better.) and a k20z3 out of an 08 civic si that, the k20z3 also has the 6 speed transmission with factory lsd and RRB-A12 ecu, engine harness, axles with half shaft, shifter cables and shifter box as well as the AC compressor. Any suggestions?

Double check but I am fairly certain that ECU uses CAN bus to communicate with the body. Depending on what you are putting it in that might be a challenge.

Oh EG, duh. Yeah getting the body and cluster talking to the engine is going to be a challenge if that 08 Civic is CAN bus.

Oh and that ECU is drive by wire. Not a terrible thing after tuning but you will need to install a DBW throttle pedal.
