94 Accors Seat Swap
Hey yall,
So I've been looking into upgrading the seats on my 94 accord. Ive read that the 96-ish Prelude seats are a great swap, but I was wondering if anyone who has done could tell me if its a direct fit? or do I have to change the tracks?
I've tried seat swaps before where everything was like 1/4" off and wouldn't fit right. If its a pain does anyone know some good direct fit seats? going for Max Comfort as its my daily driver
Thanks!

IIRC 3 out of 4 bolts will line up with those seats and they will tilt either toward the center console or the door. To get them to fit correctly swapping seat rails and/or welding would be required.
I looked into all this stuff long ago and the best option turned out to be just going aftermarket. It's worth it when something is paramount to driver and passenger safety.

I ended up going with Sparco. I've since upgraded but the original R100 seat I bought in 2015 is still in service and looks brand new. They make quality stuff. You will definitely get what you pay for.
You could always go with an aftermarket seat, though comfort is not usually the primary focus design wise, an aftermarket seat would need brackets designed for the particular seats and for your specific car so as far as bolting them in and the brackets fitting your vehicle you'd be good there.
Another option would be to do some welding and fab or have someone else do it and mount in comfort focused seats from another Honda/Acura or another make/model using custom brackets to get the alignment and mounting accomplished.
When it comes to just swapping in another set of Honda/Acura seats it would come down to alignment of the bolts/brackets and proper positioning as you know. I would have to research to be sure but I can tell you with fair certainty that there are not a ton of options, Civics/DelSols/Integras MIGHT share the same bolt pattern and brackets but will not fit Accords, for example I know DelSol seats fit in Civics. When it comes to Accords the limiting factor is year, you can most likely swap seats between same generation or year Accords of different trims, for example swapping leather seats into a non-leather Accord of the same generation. Preludes ARE the only and closest chassis to the Accord but I believe the bolt pattern is slightly different and again, generation or year will greatly limit or dictate. Another Possibility would be like the Acura TL or Cl chassis. Research, visit junkyards, ask members to take measurements, call seat or seat bracket manufacturers.
If you WANT different seats and are concerned or need to know more, I would go ahead and say, spend the extra money, go for it the right way, the hard way and just get THE seats you want, then pay the money to have custom brackets made or make them yourself. You would have THE seats you want, will have taken the most direct route, will have supported a local business, will have the correct fitment and alignment and gotten it done all while still being all the wiser

@Accordian47
I actually went the hard way first haha, I was reading about comparability posts and came across one that said the Odyssey and Accord seats were interchangeable (makes sense; allegedly built on same platform) but that was def not true. Everyone always makes the “dude you use the search function” comments but there’s a lot of bad info out there sometimes
I actually used to be a machinist / fabricator but changed things up and now I don’t have access to those resources, so if I could do it myself I definitely would but for now trying to just keep it simple. I didn’t know how limited the accord was for swap options compared to other models but I love the thing regardless!
I think now I just have to find the most comfortable aftermarket seat but also looks like it goes together. There’s a lot of rad stuff out there (old school Recaro seats) but I’m also trying to like match everything visually? Also don’t want to spend more on the seats than I did the car lmfao

I THOUGHT I gave super helpful information but I guess I gotta admit, saying just spend a bunch and get what you want isnt what ya wanted or needed to hear, darn lol
Oddysesy seats would be comfy and I bet the 94-97 Oddyessy seats would bolt up.
See you had me fooled initially, I didnt know you were an ex-fabricator.
You'll get something different in there. I used to have a 94 CD5 sedan with tons of parts in it including Sparco Torino seats, they were GREAT, held you awesome, kept you in the right position and driving emotion BUT gotta admit, expensive and a tad stiff
So after your post id say, stay smart and savvy and get a good deal on the right comfortable seat that fits in the car easiest and cheapest
