2003 Honda Civic LX Sedan Replaced Both Front Door Speakers & Starter
Hello everyone! Almost three months ago, I purchased the Kenwood KMM-BT732HD Radio. I enjoyed the sound, but wasn't to satisfied with the speakers, so I purchased the Kenwood KFC-1696PS "Performance Series 2 way-car" speakers. My friend helped install the speakers and we tested them. Unfortunately, we didn't test them long enough, as I was heading home, the speakers worked fine, but then they went silent and the radio displayed "miswiring". This was around 15min to 20min on the road that the speakers went silent. I decided to power down the radio and turn it on, and the sound plays fine for a duration. Sometimes it can play longer than 25min, and will have no problems. My friend and I plan on checking the wiring out again next time, but until then, my concern is whether there might be electrical issues or worse, the speakers stop working. You see, when I start the car and the radio starts connecting to my phone through Bluetooth, I can hear a crinkling noise coming from the speakers, for a few seconds before it "settles" down. Just yesterday, the car was working fine, but then we had to change the starter. I'm not sure, but would the starter not working be related to the speakers being miswired? Another note is the speakers protrude a bit, so the doors weren't fully set in place like it would with OEM speakers, but the door panel still sets right.
A radio interface may be needed for the computer to recognize it , or something like that . See a pro stereo shop and bring your wallet , The days of red wire black wire are over .
