Hello all.
3 related questions:
I have a 78 Accord 2 door hatchback. The doors will close but clunk very harshly and the door latches have slack in them. There is about 5/8” of play in the closed doors.

1) where can I find a diagram of the latch?
2) are there supposed to be plastic or nylon covering or linings on the latch (door part) itself. Mine are metal only and I see no evidence of any linings.
3) if there are supposed to be coverings/linings where could I get some?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

 

Probably had the door latch silencers like the Civic did. The plastic falls out and things just rattle. There is a guy in the UK that makes them for Civics reproduction. If your lucky they may be the same. Look at the part numbers to be sure.
