Speedometer acting weird.
I have a 1999 civic ex sedan and my speedometer stopped working today. Doesnt read anything unless im braking. Also my brake light came on but im 90% sure thats unrelated. Any thoughts?
If it's the E brake light that pops up, this is a simple sensor issue, it happens when it gets cold usually. The sensor is located by the E brake under the console, The sensor can be replaced easily.
Agree with wunfstgsr on the speed sensor plug having a bad connection.
For the brake light, it could also be that your brake master cylinder reservoir is low on fluid.

Yes, that's the first thing you should check!
