Default em1 idle rpm’s bouncing

I have a 2000 honda civic si that I just recently bought. Most of the time when i’m idling the rpm’s will bounce from around 1k to 2k over and over again. Anyone have any ideas of what’s going on ?

You mentioned in your other thread that you have a faulty distributor, so that most certainly could be a factor here.

Otherwise, make sure your IACV is clear of any debris. Check for any other vacuum leaks and make sure your TPS signal is reliable.
But, if you already know you have a bad distributor, fix that first.

Sounds good, thank you.

Definitely check tps and iacv first. Seems to be the issue 90% of the time.
