when I jump the two wire connection to change my timing do I have to jump the wire THEN start the car THEN change the timing THEN shut it off THEN restart for the computer to sync with the new timing? is this the correct order ? THANKS

 

jump the wires with a paper clip, start the car, verify the check engine light is ON, do your timing. Turn off car, remove paperclip. have a beer

Never mind.... the cheap timing light isn't working properly. I got it really close but it's hard to line up. I'm going to see how it goes. THANKS

 

take out all the spark plugs, bring the #1 piston to TDC (does not matter if on intake or exhaust) look at the harmonic balancer. The timing mark on the balancer will either line up with the timing belt cover mark or it will be at the 6 oclock on the balancer
