91 EF Hatch Build
Greetings Honda-Tech folks!
I’m new to the forum and on my way to getting a sweet EF hatch running. Purchased my (non-running) DPFI 91 hatch almost two years ago for $600 with a blown d15.
Currently, that engine is out and a B18b1 out of a 98 Integra I picked up for $300 and rebuilt for another $350 is on the stand waiting to go in. I also have a rebuilt manual cable trans from a 91 Integra to go with it on Innovative B swap mounts.
Next on the list is to clean and paint the engine bay before dropping the rebuild in. The next set of parts I’ll need to pick up are a new wiring harness wired for MPFI, OBD1 and distributor adapter as well as a P75-A51 OBD1 ECU.
I know I can either build up my stock harness or buy one pre-made but here’s my question and reason for posting here. Rywire harnesses are super spendy and the price encourages me to save the money and try my hand at building up my own, however, lots of room for error there.
On the other hand, I have found a list of decent parts, including a much more budget friendly wiring harness from efparts.bigcartel.com . I can’t seem to figure out if this guy is actually still in business and actually shipping parts. The phone number listed on his social media pages never gets answered, there’s been no reply to Facebook messages sent to his shop page, and emails with ordering questions directly through the above listed site have also gone unanswered. Basically, enough red flags to keep me from ordering anything from him. Has anyone bought stuff or heard from this guy recently? His shop is in Salem, OR and just outside of a range I care to drive just to see if his doors are open.

Well, I sent Jon at Garage Built Honda a message since I had heard him say he had used EFparts before in some of his YouTube videos. He responded quickly and said he very recently ordered from them. About an hour later, EFparts reached out and answered my questions so he’s still in business.
I found a sweet .pdf guide on upgrading your stock DX harness for a B18B1 OBD1 but it kind of requires you to have the connectors and such from the Integra it was pulled from. The closest U-Pick junkyard is about 2 hours from me and currently doesn’t they have many 94-01 Integras in the yard. Even if they did, it’s a long drive to find out someone already yanked the harness.
Any tips on where to order connectors? Since my engine is from a 98 Integra, it’s got OBD2 injectors, alternator and distributor.
