Default H22EK is alive... ALIIIIIVVE!!

Well, we got it started. She started right up no problem, surprisingly. Unfortunately, the tach doesn't work, and the CEL NEVER CAME ON?! I don't have any EGR stuff? Is it working properly?! Anyone have any clue on where to start on the Tach? It's an Si cluster.
It's a JDM P13, and I know EGR is optional, but I thought it threw a light no matter what? Hmm, a bit confusing I guess. Oh well, it RUNS! Pretty well, too. Just a few little bugs here and there. WOOO HOOOOOO!!

BTW, was your tach working before? And are you talking about RPM tach or Speedometer?

Elmira! haha middle of NO WHERE! haha

That should about do it.... The car did not have a motor in it when the car was purchased and it only had a DX cluster in it, (no tach). He put in a 00 Si cluster. Hell not even sure if the speedo works for that matter.

Well the whole cluster should be plug and play just make sure you connected all the wires off the harness properly. If your speedo isnt working then just make sure you plug up the Vehicle speed sensor located at the back of the tranny right around the area of the shift linkage..

And I just had a shop weld up the downpipe straight to the exhaust that was already on the civic.. Changed out the muffler then put resonators on it to quite it down..

All EK clusters are plug & play. If your speedo and tach doesn't work, first check the the VSS and your tach wire (blue wire) and rerun that to the negative end of the ignition coil. If those don't work, then you may have a bad cluster, and plug your old one back in too to verify that.

As for a "good" exhaust system for the H22 Civics, most of us run 2.5" piping with no cat, long 30" resontator, and a cheap free-flowing 2.5" inlet/outlet muffler. No buzzing what so ever, and it sounds very clean.... in VTEC, my car sounded louder than my friend's car... go figure, but still sounded good. Entire setup cost, around $150-$200

Hey guys,
I am about to join the h22 hybrid club too...I am not from New York, I am from New Jersey.....and my h22 isnt going in a civic...its going into a '94 teg... my h22 is a 2000 american spec h22... I am in the process of putting it in... I still have to buy some other parts...It should be done before christmas... Its going to have a couple of bolt ons.... Ported and Polished by me,Intake/Headers/Exhaust, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and an ACT clutch.. I am going to be running a 95 gsr ecu.. I am hoping to hit mid 13's on this setup... Summer of next year, I want to rebuild the motor for a turbo set up... Anyway, enough of my rambling, if you guys have any pointers or any info...let me know...thanks
