Default Driver door lock replacement

Hey guys, my car (2017 honda civic with key ignition) got broken into while I was on vacation by someone opening up the driver door keyhole and breaking the door lock cylinder.

I ordered a new OEM key door lock cylinder and plastic cover and they fit into the car just fine, and I made sure the key lock cylinder fit into the cross shaped hole on the door lock actuator. But when I use the new key that came with the door lock cylinder it turns to the left and right but theres no change in the door locking or unlocking.

The door locks and unlocks just fine using the key fob but Id like the manual key to work. Any insights? Thanks.
