I got a 1999 Honda Civic EX with the 5 speed standard transmission. 195k miles. Im the second owner I bought used from private seller. I baby it and I am a fanatic about maintenance. Runs perfect. Last week my mom got in it and when she was trying to back up she stalled it and it made a very loud clunking sound. She said he thinks the car rolled forward into the concrete parking block. There is no visible damage to the car. Every time i go in reverse and I'm rolling with the clutch in, it makes a grinding noise that changes in sound depending how fast I'm going. It's not super loud but I can notice everything about my car. It does make the sound when the clutch is engaged to the engine. All the gears still work good but its driving me nuts because I'm worried she damaged the transmission. Should i just ignore it or take the trans out and check for damage? Thanks
