Hi and thanks in advance for your help. Im stuck.

1994 Honda civic d15

Car cranks and does not start.
Things I've replaced so far.
-Ignitor, Distributor Cap and rotor
-Ignition coil
-Spark plugs
-Spark plug wires
-Fuel filter
-Map sensor

I did verify fuel pump working when we replaced the fuel filter.

History of vehicle. I got the car early Jan 2020. It was definitely modified horribly by previous owner. I got it into a shop and the car ran fine. It did have some problems from a stop with low power. That was a clogged cat so that was removed and replaced with a test pipe. Car ran fine. It did sit for a while at various shops while waiting for suspension, alarm, and various other parts due to covid but it did drive. It has always been pretty tough to get started but it got progressively worse.

Things that were done by shop when I got it or up until it quit starting. New battery, valve cover gasket due to leaking. put right pulleys on, previous owner had wrong pulleys and created belt issues.

Also yes I know I'm throwing parts at it but since I don't really know the history of it I figured it was almost preventative at this point since its a 28 years old lol

did you try squirting some starting fluid in the intake to see if it pops? if so you aren't getting fuel. that's the first thing to try.

 

we didn’t have any at the time but that’s on the list of things to try. I was also gonna try and crank it a few times and smell the spark plugs to see if it smells like gas.

 

Sounds like a cylinder isn’t firing. Verify you have the correct plug order, and check spark.

Is the order looking at the front of the dizzy

 

no spark. Tried to crank. Yes plugs smell like fuel so it’s getting fuel.

 

plugs smell like fuel. No spark with spark test. Tapped on starter with hammer. No change.

 

Going to try an all new distributor in the morning.
