I’ve recently changed my head gasket on my D16Y8 engine. After reconnecting all of my vacuum lines and cleaning my throttle intake, I have a high idle. Once started it goes to a fast idle with or without my throttle cable connected. Not sure if this is a sign of a warped head or a bigger problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

 

So when you start the car it’s goes to regular idle then slowly increases to about 2k?

 

It will idle and when I manually give it throttle it seems like it gets stuck and continues to rev to its limit, cleaned the throttle intake and everything, not sure what’s going on with it

 

Check the play on the throttle cable and it’s hard to understand what your saying or what’s the exact Issue

 

The issue is that it doesn’t retain the idling, and revs up without giving it throttle.
