I hope that you’re all doing well. Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions.

I own a 98 Honda EK sedan. It has the OEM alarm system and remotes.

The issues I am having are:

1. Central locking issues: All 4 doors unlock with the remote, but won’t lock with the remote. I manually lock the passenger, rear doors and use the key for the driver side as a result. I also noticed that each time after starting my car, if I don’t lock my drivers door manually after 10-15 secs, all my doors will unlock.
2. Power Window issue: When sitting in the drivers’ seat, I can use the power window switch to roll down the rear passenger window but the same switch won’t work when I am trying to get the window back up. Works fine for the rest. I end up having to roll up the window at the rear passenger switch if I accidentally roll it down.

Looking at my driver side door jam, I do note electrical tape on the harness and my rear passenger door pull isn’t a fan of staying on which leads me to believe that the previous owner has tried something at some point in the cars life.

Any assistance in these matters will be greatly appreciated!

 

Known issue with wires breaking in the door jam. Painful repair due to access but eminently do-able. I believe this is in the FAQs. If it isn't, it ought to be.
