I was wondering if I could make a duplicate key without the plastic cover, so it’s just a full metal key. (OFC I probably can) BUT it doesn’t have like a chip or anything like that in there right? I read that Honda didn’t put chips in keys until 2001 and up so.

If you are in the US, it does not have an immobilizer. Assuming you still have the original locks in the car your local dealer can cut you an original key using the VIN number (bring your registration for proof of ownership).
Yes. They look up your vin number, and that gives them the tumbler code as originally came in the car. Then they use a machine like below to make a brand new key in the original pattern for your car:
You might be able to buy a blank from them and have it copied with your current key, if you are just looking for an OEM key.
