I have a 2000 Accord EX. The area that is under the audio system has a rubber pad that is sticky to the touch. Is there something that is supposed to be in there that is missing?

I went through the owners manual, the original one that came with the car, but there are not any pictures of what is supposed to go there.

It is just a "grippy" rubber, it shouldn't be sticky. If it is sticky maybe someone spilled some stuff on it. Or sometime plastic becomes sticky and nasty. Use rubbing alcohol to clean it. If all else fail, just put something over and cover it.
