Default dumb question

Changed my valve cover gasket (D16Y7) about a month ago to (successfully) solve a leak between it and the head. Checked my oil today and noticed a small buildup of oil around the edge of the spark plug wire (only on cylinder #1) where it meets the upper lip of the plug well. I haven't seen it there before, even after said gasket change.
I'm not concerned, more so curious because this is bizarre and I've never seen it before.

Did you replace the spark plug tube grommets?

I did. Unless I somehow did it incorrectly I'm not sure why the leak would happen.
To clarify, there is no oil in the well or on the threads for the plug. It is only on top of the valve cover in the aforementioned place

It kinda depends on the quality of the gasket... Let's say that the quality control of aftermarket gaskets isn't very constant. Sometimes a little RTV is a must to solve those leaks. I've replaced several vtec gaskets and even honda gaskets sometimes start leaking right after install

Yep sometimes i put a little high temp rtv on both sides of my gaskets. Make sure you have a clean surface 👌

If it's the top of the well (by the sounds). The well gaskets in the valve cover others have mentioned, might be in the cover correctly but I find you need a small flat tip screw driver to get them around the spark plug well tube correctly. If not they catch the edge and don't actually go over the well tube properly and instead partly sit on top of the well tube not sealing it. If you don't see the full circumference of the well tube at the top, you've caught part of the gasket and not gotten it to completely go around the tube like it's supposed to.
