Default F23a1… 10 second. quarter. MILE!?!? 🤔

Hypothetically speaking, if you dumped enough money into a Accord Ex w the f23a1 engine, could you realistically build a 10 second 1/4 mile car? Am I nuts?

If you dumped enough money into a geo metro or even a kei car (660cc/50ish horsepower) you can make it a 10 second car. While possible. Dual cam is definitely better. If you want to go F/H then see if you can find a prelude with a h22a euro red top with a t2w4 trans and start there. Mines in the shop getting repairs, no clue what your time frame is but mine will be posted for sale immediately upon getting it out of the shop. However I'd definitely recommend swapping a h22 into a civic/crx instead of a accord/prelude. Aside from what chassis you'll be doing this in you will want a quality turbo kit. Depending on which chassis you actually choose with enoughweight reduction and some beefier (forged) rods (might as well do pistons too since it's a full teardown), and some flow work to the head and intake, with a good tuner 14 pounds of boost could be all it needs.

Also with your block an insane Frankenstein motor can be built along with the help of a h22 family engine. Not long life, but Hella fun on the strip. Not streetable due to poor reliability. Look up g23 motors on this forum

Excellent answer and sound advice. Thank you 👊 The car I have I used to own back in the day, and I just recently - full well knowing it’s a junker turd now - bought it again to revive it. I’m reviving it more so as a hobby than actual competition. I’m willing to put money into a unique, fun and fast little accord. I already plan on upgrading the connecting rods, cam, and possibly pistons. I also plan on boosting sometime down the road.

I highly recommend a h22 motor if a h22 motor and trans. Just motor is fine as it will bolt right up to your transmission.

At that point I may as well and just get a civic or different car. I already swapped out the automatic transmission, and I’m getting ready to install a manual transmission.

I’d rather just buy a stick shift, v8 mustang and have roush slap a supercharger in it. 👌

I can think of a cheaper way involving a v6 luxury sedan if interested.
