Sweet 1989 Honda Civic SI (Hatchback) Black, $2800
-------SALE PENDING------
(and yes, it will get a ferry ride)
130,000 miles, 1.6L FI original engine.
Good mechanical condition: Starts, drives, and shifts nicely, powers up hills.
Interior is all original and in very good condition. There are minor dents from on-street parking and there is some rust at lower edges, spare tire well gets wet. Frame is good. It was undercoated at purchase by original owner.
We've had this much loved but lightly used Civic SI since 1996. We hate to let it go, but it now belongs with someone interested in restoration or modification.
The rub: It would need to be barged or ferried/driven to lower 48. In fall, ferry to Prince Rupert or Bellingham is good. If soon, could do AK highway through Canada after ferry to Skagway. We can help with logistics -- put it on barge or ferry. Great car, fun to drive, low profile, sleek design. 1989 Civic SI Hatchback has classic lines. Window, doors, mirrors all work fine. The reflective strip between the lights is included, can be re-attached. All original interior. front seats in very good condition, a few minor patches. Rear seats in excellent condition. Dash, wheel, and gauges all in good shape Radio works-- has a cassete deck. Remember those? Heat is good, no A/C was included in this Alaskan car. Sunroof! The SI model has great visibility, with winged hinge windows for the back, rear defrost. Wiper moves but arm should be replaced (can't get just the blade). Carpet on seat backs, black mat in cargo. Surprisingly spacious. We have fit gear for 2 week wilderness trip for 3 people, with 3 kayaks on top! It was tight, but it worked. Original engine, 1.6L fuel injected. Timing belt done after purchase ~68K. Valve cover gasket, clutch, radiator, exhaust, plugs, PCV, brakes replaced since then. Alternator, battery, thermostat, and ebrake cable replaced in past few years. Engine is lively and sounds normal, no engine lights.
