Hi, so i just bought an automatic 2000 honda accord v6. I’m having a little bit of trouble with my engine. When i accelerate my gas peddle is “spongy” when i press down on it and it’s also very jerking when i decelerate. I also noticed that when i’m parked the car will rev by itself and make a weird creaking noise. I’m not sure what’s going on if anyone could help.

 

Check the IACV. If I were you, I'd flush the coolant with the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing and then with the radiator cap off after the bleeder is good and tightened back up. If that doesn't help, consider a new Idle Air Control Valve, as that one may just be stuck. It is a common problems with these pre-2008 accords, I've noticed.
