95 accord h swap
So I got a 95 accord lx auto and I got a h22a engine with a 5 speed f series trans...what mounts would I need.... an I use a prelude shifter and cables if so which year....is there a way I can avoid cutting the bracket for trans and not buying swap mount....I'm gonna run a p28 ecu so would I still need knock n what not...it's My first cd5 build and h swap so wanna get all my info n parts together
You don't need to hack up the trans mount. There is a dimple in the bracket welded onto the car that you can drill out and use for the mounting hole. You will need a manual mount though. No other changes are necessary.
You can also use your factory auto rear bracket/mount, and driver's side mount. For the driver's side mount you would have to swap to an F20B/H23A style mount bracket that has the closer bolt spacing over the USDM H22 bracket. I have one of these for sale on eBay at the moment actually.
You would want to use shifter cables with the matching shifter box from a 90-97 Accord, or 92-96 Prelude. You can use any clutch pedal assembly from the same models.
P28 is fine but it will need to be chipped and be properly tuned by a professional tuner. They can disable knock, etc.
This swap has been done over and over for more than 20 years now....There is very detailed documentation available for everything if you just search around. Hondasociety is a good resource as well.
