Okay I’m stumped I have a obd1 harness and b16 motor alternator came on it but my plug is the same size as the alternator plug thus it will not plug in it just mates up to it can anyone identify the issue

Was it plugged in, when you received it? If it was, then it should work, I assume. However, maybe you just have the wrong alternator...?

I had to re use my old alternator (obd1), the one that fit the plug, instead of the one that come with the replacement engine (obd2).

 

Where did your engine harness come from ?

 

complete stand alone rywire harness I ended up just buying a obd1 to obd2 harness and bought a obd2 alt issues resolved lol my buddy mentioned it maybe a Canadian alt but their plugs are oval and 3 wire

 

it wasn’t plugged up at all but ran with out charger on the car so I assume someone rigged it to make it charge constantly idk I removed alt and installed obd1 to obd2 adapter harness and installed a obd2 alt to fix the issue
