Re: Rust on Crank under Pulley. How do I clean and Prevent rust?
Use a product like WD40 or Kroil to dissolve the rust... then use scotch brite to clean up the crankshaft end. Make sure after cleaning, you use brake clean to remove any oils and residue from your rust removal efforts.

If you drive it... nothing. Rust is going to happen. I suppose one could spray WD-40 or similar into the flutes of the crank timing gear to keep the rust at bay... just make sure that the threads in the end of the crankshaft are clean and dry as well as the face of the crank pulley so the crank bolt can be properly torqued.
