Radio on, display working, but no sound

Radio on, display working, but no sound
I've recently bought a 2008 Civic Coupe and entered the code inside my glovebox to unlock the radio but there is no sound no matter what volume I set.
The only sound let out is a loud, repetitive burst of bass. There are two causes of these bursts of bass:
1. Holding 1+3+PWR to test speakers
2. Incorrect code input when unlocking radio
It cannot be turned off using any buttons, I have to shut the car off or stop the speaker test.
I've checked the fuses and they look fine, I reset the radio then unlocked it, and the problem still persists. Any help?
