My daughter is in Honolulu(husband is Navy) and hubby is out to sea. She's 23 and on her own til he returns. But they are needing to ship their car off because they are being transferred. They are very strict and the gas can't be more than 1/4 of a tank full. Well, her needle didn't move right away when she was putting gas in it yesterday and by the time it did, it marked 1/2 a tank. She drove for 2hrs last night and left the car idling for about an hour before neighbors started complaning so she turned it off. Appt to drop it off on base is at 9:45am O'ahu time. Can gas be siphoned out from this car without damage? She's stressing out because she's newly married and never had to do these things before. I told her to call some auto repair places to see if they can siphon some out for her but none are open yet. I don't want her to damage her car either. She's short on time and I know it takes forever to use gas on the island because I rented a kia soul for a week there and drove the entire week every day all over and barely used 1/2 a tank.
