2016 HRV LX trouble code U0155
Hi. Friday overnight we had a heavy rain storm. Saturday morning I had some errands and had to open and close the rear hatch about 6 or 7 times. On the last attempt the button on the exterior of the hatch would not release the lock... neither would the key fob trunk release. I found a cloth shopping bag stuck in the hatch door and pulled it out from inside the vehicle. Tried again... still wont open rear hatch. I then started the car. Vehicle started and ran fine only to find the instrument panel is dead/black except it shows several warning lights around the perimeter. When I plug into the Obd jack I see code U0155 has been set.
Here are the other details: No speed or tach or fuel level gauges--black, no audible panel sounds such as turn signals or 4 way flasher. Idiot lights are on showing no airbag, no parking brake, no ABS, no stability control, and no steering. Rear hatch won't open/release, Ac won't engage, cruise does not work, brake hold does not work, LEFT rear red LED night time running light has 3 vertical strips..the left strip works fine, the middle strip flickers slowly, right strip flickers fast. Left rear Braker/stop lamp not working. Courtesy lamp in rear hatch left side stopped working a month ago (bulb and switch test ok) If I run the self diagnostic from the display/radio on the front dash it beeps loud once and shows the B-CAN in RED.
On the plus side car drives ok. Steering, acceleration, brakes, parking brake work fine. yesterday all 3 rear brake lights were working ok (today LEFT rear brake lamp not working), turn signals, headlights, radio, backup camera, door locks work (except aforementioned rear hatch lock), 4 way flasher, horn, interior fans/blowers all operate correctly (ac wont engage). B21 10 A fuse in the under-hood fuse box is OK. Also good is fuse C34 under the dash 7.5A. I am doubting the car battery is at fault as the car starts and runs without any hesitation. Brake fluid level appears not too far from the MAX line.
Any ideas where to look first? I tried to find a fuse specific for the IPC but none is listed in the owners manual. Does anyone have a service manual? Or other input? I also tried the Gauges Manual self-diagnostic functions test a person suggested (pushing the set button/flicking the headlight thing etc) but that was inconclusive as the instrument panel is dead except for the previously mentioned idiot lights.
Other info: 2 months ago dealer replaced rear wiper motor as it was acting intermittent or not parking. Car also has a history of randomly setting off security alarm when it rains. (4 or 5 times a year but not this past weekend.) In the month previously car ran fine.. no issues... other than the courtesy lamp inside the left rear of the hatch that would not function (despite the bulb and switch testing ok)
Many thanks for any input.
Ed
