Big Ruckus PS250 no crank
I just picked up a 2006 BR. It has been sitting since 2017. It will not crank on the button, but I can jump the terminals at the relay and it will crank, still no start.
I have done the following-
Verified both brake lever switches work
fresh fuel (filter is ordered)
Checked all fuses (all were good)
Ordered replacement starter relay
Freshly charger battery, 12.5 volts at the posts.
When I checked the terminals at the relay, the 4-pin that goes to the rest of the bike, I have constant and switched power. The Run/Stop switch terminal shows 10 volts when powered on, and the fuel pump runs.
The starter switch terminal has about 9 volts when I hit the button. This is all with a battery charger connected to the bike.
Using a Power Probe (gets battery power via clamps), if I put 12v directly to the starter terminal, it cranks IF the run/stop switch is in the off position, but does not when the switch is in the Run position. When the Run/Stop switch is in Run, and I put 12v to the starter positon, the lights just dim.
I suspect the run/start switch is either corroded or has failed somehow. It could be something completely different though, looking for answers.
I can't find much on repairs for these bikes, so I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
