I have a 2002 accord that’s been in the family for 20 years and it is sentimental. I want to replace piece by piece, part by part, and upgrade parts as I go along until I have a cool, customized Accord. The first MAJOR goal is to convert from auto tragic to manual. Then I’ll rebuild and upgrade from there. Thoughts?

 

What is the most complicated thing you've done to the car so far?

 

I haven’t done anything all that complex yet. All of be really done is gut the interior and remove ecu

 

Is it broken now? Does it run? Seems a bit overboard to go through everything of it’s not necessary.

I have begun to order parts. I also acquired a a manual transmission from a local salvage yard👌 #TheJunkYardIsAMagicalPlace

 

Dump the oil onto the ground.. even if it's at a wrecker, that was just dumb and careless.

 

Yeah, that was accidental.. 🤦‍♂️

 

Tomorrow (09/21/2022) will mark the first month anniversary of my 2002 Accord rebuild project. Thus far I have:
-Gutted interior, including removing A/T shift assembly and cables.
-Vacuumed and cleaned interior.
- Removed exhaust manifold and exhaust.
-Removed cylinder head cover and replaced 4 cylinder head seals.
-“Gutted” (for lack of better term) engine bay and labeled all components.
