Default Walk away auto lock doesn't work

My walk away auto lock stopped working on my 2016 pilot awd touring. I get the first beep when I close the door (tested with each door individually) but when I walk away, no second beep or auto lock. I didn't leave the spare key fob in the car. Both fobs have fresh batteries and both have the issue with no auto lock. I also just replaced the start stop push button with the newer 35881-TG7-A03 model because I had a separate keyless start error, but replacing the button didn't fix the auto lock. What components are involved in the auto lock besides the key fob that I can troubleshoot? Seems like all the door switches are working. I tried unplugging the battery terminal, but not sure if there are other steps for a hard reset, so might not have done anything. I also tried disabling the auto lock setting, turning car off and on with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks!
