2009 Civic - Steering Wheel shakes when accelerating/braking after new brakes/rotor
2009 Honda Civic.
Just replaced the front brake pads and 1 rotor (front driver side) because the brakes weren't changed and it got down to metal on metal on 1 rotor and it pretty much ruined the rotor (my son didn't think to change the brakes on the car until he started hearing a grinding noise while driving). Bought another rotor, and have now changed the rotor, and both front brakes.
Went to test drive it around. But noticed that after I hit around 55 MPH, if I accelerate a decent amount, or start braking, the steering wheel starts shaking a bit. If i let off the accelerator/brakes at that speeds, the shaking goes away. At lower speeds, everything seems fine. is there like a break in period ?
I just find it odd that it also happens when accelerating and at higher speeds, but I am not a mechanic.
edit: after some more driving around, the shaking just seems to correspond more to the speed. At lower speeds, it seems normal, but the shake is there, just much more subtle.

And I was able to fix it, albeit unknowingly. I went back, took out the brakes, the rotor, then re-installed everything again a 2nd time. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary though when I was retracing the steps/taking the parts off then to reinstalling everything. I dunno, put some extra love into tightening everything and all seems well now
