I have a 93 Delsol SI manual transmission. I recently replaced had the head gasket, and a bunch of other regular maintenance done. After completion of the maintenance, I noticed I was having to give it pedal to start, and it stalled randomly at a red light. A week or so later it was not wanting to fire. I have good crank, and I've been told that it could be the ECU - since there is no spark getting to the engine.
Do any of you agree that this could be the problem?
If so, can I replace my ECU with any P28 manual ECU or do I have to find an exact match?
There are other things that could cause a no-spark condition, but if you suspect the ECU before outright just swapping it out I'd recommend mailing it to Phearable.net and having them refresh it and bench test it.
I've replaced plugs, wires, and the distributor. Which has lead me to believe it's the ECU. I thought maybe it was due to also replacing the timing belt, but I don't think that could be it after inspection.
