2014 HONDA CIVIC CVT FAILURE. Need advice
Hello everyone,
My 2014 Honda Civic CVT transmission just failed at 260,000km, 156,000 miles. Based on my research, this is typical life of these CVT transmissions. No movement forward or backwards, engine freewheeling. Cheapest low km transmission I can get is 90,000km @ $2600. Does Honda not make these anymore? Or sell them to the public? I would prefer not to swap my transmission and have it grenade 50,000 miles later.
Just running the numbers, I have a 10 year old car that's not even worth fixing because the EPA mandates a transmission design so complicated nobody bothers rebuilding? How wasteful.
