Intermittent crank but no start
My 2000 accord occasionally won’t start. Cranks nicely. The last time it happened I was able to grab a video of the lights cluster. I get no green key light and I can’t shift the transmission out of park. This is a 4 cylinder. The problem seems to clear itself after a period of time. What would be trouble shooting steps? Thanks

Could be the main relay. Check engine light should come on and then turn off after the fuel pump has been primed.
Next time it doesn’t start, try turning the key to the ON position (don’t start it) and see if the check engine light comes on. If it comes on and stays on, I would take a look at the main relay. If it doesn’t come on at all, still have a look at the main relay.

I was able to capture a video with the problem. No check engine light and no green key light. In the same video the problem goes away. I pulled the main relay and removed the housing to inspect the solder joints. I didn’t see anything that resembles the problem in this YouTube video where you can see the solder joint arcing on the circuit board. If you care to see YouTube video , go to the 6:15 time mark. I could try throwing a new relay in but hate to just through parts at it. What would be the next steps?
