Steering rack boot leak
Good afternoon.
I noticed the other day when I was turning that I was hearing a noise when turning to the right, coming from the tire area. It wasn't terribly loud but I thought I'd check it out.
I jacked up the car and saw that the steering rack boot has fluid on the bottom of it. I haven't seen any leaks on the ground. I checked the power steering reservoir and it's full.
Any idea what this fluid would be and why it's causing a noise? Am I looking at a whole new steering rack?

Might be the cv axle making the noise. You could try doing a thorough check of the engine and suspension under the car to make sure its not a leak coming from someplace else. If the boot is torn I would just replace that. You can ziptie the ends to the rack/tierod
