Default Help with my build jdm 97spec b18c type r

Hello everyone I was seeing if you could help me out. I currently have a 97 spec type r motor b18c. I want to rebuild the motor and currently have purchase.

toda a2 cam shafts with toda valve strings and toda overhaul oem pistons and rings with stock bore. as well as toda rods. Im also applying super tech valves and retainers included lost motions. I’m keeping the car all motor and was seeing what kind of fuel set up I should do. I only drive the car only on weekends and still would like to travel the car so e85 is out of the question the thing that’s stopping my rebuild is not sure if I should switch out the manifold injectors and fuel rail can anyone help me with this thank you 🙏

For your power target OEM fuel system including injectors, rail, and fuel pump are all fine.

If you wanted to upgrade your fuel system just as part of a general refresh to the car, get a Walbro, Grams, or other reputable 255lph fuel pump along with some smaller 400-450cc Bosch ID injectors (Injector Dynamics, FIC, FID, Injector Nation, etc).

Hey Campos,

I'm building a similar B18c for my 96 JDM Integra Type R(DB8) with the same Toda parts you have except I'm using Toda Spec B cams. For fueling the only parts I'm upgrading are the fuel pump with a walbro 255 and went with RDX injectors(with the B-series kit). Staying stock rail/regulator.

As Chance mentioned the pump and injectors are good to upgrade. When you go to tune you should be good on the stock rail/regulator.

I heard since I’m only doing all motor that walbor 225lph is not good for my set up that a 190lph with 310cc injectors would be best does anyone know if this is right

Are you planning on using an adjustable FPR and gauge? Should be good if so, you can adjust the fuel needs from there. the 225 pump will be fine.

Yes the set up I was thinking of going with is

hybrid racing fuel rail & fuel line kit
hybrid racing liquid filled fuel pressure
AEM high volume adjustable fuel pressure
AEM high volume fuel filter
Rc fuel injectors 310cc not sure if I should go higher
the only thing that I haven’t decided on is intake manifold

Yeah 225 pump will be fine with that set up.

I have currently
Aem fuel rail/FPR
Stock fuel filter
RDX injectors w/b-series conversion
Skunk 2 ultra manifold with 70mm skunk2 TB.

main difference with our builds is im running Toda Spec B and higher comp pistons.

Good reference for power. similar build with Toda C's - 7 minute mark Kevin details and lists his build. Hope it helps.

Did you buy 81mm piston and rings? If it needs a rebuild you might end up over boring it .5mm like most shops do so those 81mm piston and rings won't work. Unless you just re hone the cylinder bore.

this is a very mild build that doesn't need to be overly complicated.

The A2 cam is designed as a drop in camshaft that can be run on the factory computer, which also means oe fuel injectors, rail, pump etc. You wont be maxing out the original pump, injectors or rail for that matter. Even with a little ethanol blended in (low amount 10-15%).

To make the most of it, have the cams degreed and buy a hondata and get it tuned.

Factory TB and intake will work just fine, you can go up to a 68mm and a ported Skunk2 Pro intake or have a factory intake cut and ported. Header Toda if you want to stick with the toda theme or the plm version
