Hey I purchased an 2004 accord and I took it to a repair shop that said it needed a new timing cover gasket, front engine seal, harmonic balancer, drive belt, and axel.

My question is since it has 200,000 miles on it should I just replace the engine and transmission instead of dumping money into the current engine.

Reason why I ask is because I owned a civic and many other cars that blew on me aka threw a rod. Just scared of taking the wrong path and be back to square 1(no car).
