Default 2017 Pilot Smart Sensing Lock Cylinder removal

I'd like to have a lock cylinder from the driver door handle recoded by a locksmith. From what I've seen I think I can remove the lock cylinder my simply undoing the 10mm bolt on the side of the door, and do not have to open the door panel. Can anyone confirm?

I highly doubt that. I have done door cylinders on a couple of different Hondas and the lock cylinder is literally the first step to assembling the door.

It very well could be a single bolt holding the door handle in place but to access that bolt you will need to strip the door to nothing.

If you're just removing the driver's front door cylinder (# 23 and 25 in the 2nd parts diagram), then yes.

A plug cap (#28 in the 1st parts diagram) is removed from the side of the door, then the bolt is removed to take out the door cylinder. Anything else like the door handle, etc.; requires the door panel removal.
