Default Keyless Access Control unit, and Sub-Relay box

For my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L, the car is not responding to the key fob. The fob battery is good, but it is not locking or unlocking the car. The car DOES start, and you can also lock it by pressing the black button on the handle, and it does un-lock when you touch the handle. The dealer diagnosed it as faulty Keyless Access Control unit which must be replaced and re-programmed to the remote. Estimated cost is $800. Further, dealer service says the likely cause is a faulty Sub-Relay Box, so it’s recommended to replace that too (another $400). Parts are on order. Does this seem right? Do I have options? My non-dealer mechanic can't do anything but he has a trusted lock and security company. I called and am waiting for a call back. Repair Cost will likely be much lower than dealer, but can I trust the private work?

@newirv Did you end up taking it to the dealer or mechanic? I have the same issue
