Hello I changed the head gasket on a 96 Honda Accord and had the head shaved and when I put it back on the car missed out a 40 or 6000 rpm’s which ever comes first and it’s constantly fouling spark plugs every time I change them I have done so much research and can’t figure anything out it’s a automatic so I can’t find anyone to clear codes either because it’s a Honda race car

 

Can you do a compression or leakdown test to see that the new headgasket was installed successfully? What is fouling the plugs? fuel, coolant, oil etc?

Are you using the right heat range plugs for your head? If you shaved it, the compression might have been increased, you may need to try a cooler plug, ngk heat range 6 for example. You may even have to consider a higher octane fuel if the compression ratio been increased a lot from the shaving

 

How much did you remove from the head, did you clay the engine to verify proper piston to valve clearance?

Well, 40 rpm definitely comes before 6000

What did it miss out on?

Timing, maybe smack the pistons off the ol valves?

Stop changing them then....lol

Have you tried doing a compression test on the cylinders?

What computer are you running in your Honda Race Car? Stock ECU or aftermarket/chipped OBD1

If it is the stock computer any scan tool should read the ECU through the OBD port.
