Default 1997 Honda Accord clock spring

Hey everyone! Totally new here but just bought a 1997 Honda Accord EX 4 Cylinder with 68k on it.. Problem is the airbags were deployed and replaced but it still showing the SRS light on. The mechanic I took it to told me the airbags will not deploy. He suggested that it's the clock spring that needs to be replaced. But they don't make the part anymore.. My question is does the clock spring have to be from an EX or are they interchangeable? Thank you

Any trim level Accord will work, '96/97.

You can clear/reset the SRS light but it's a tedious process. Look up "SRS light reset". You can do that at home and it doesn't take special tools.
