D16y8 5500rpm redline?
So pretty much, my vtec stopped working, so I installed a new solenoid. After it was installed, it wouldn’t go past 5500rpm. I unhooked the tps, and the car started, and ran rich. With the old solenoid back in, it will go to 7 grand. Have any of y’all experienced this before, and how did you fix it, is it a bad tps, or something else I am overlooking?
Get yourself a cheap multimeter and test the tps... easy to do. Check the screens (2) for the vtec solenoid to see if they are clogged, also check for broken wire connections going to the solenoid.
I should've have said also try measuring and comparing the ohms from your old one to the new one to see if they are in spec. Maybe the new one has some problem and causing the ecu the issue when it's trying to go into vtec?
Its one from ebay, you think it is the solenoid it’s self. It is showing a code for an IAT sensor which would make since because I got the sensor out of the junkyard with the stock air intake
