Long crank no start on my EX.
First of all I want to apologize in advance if I am reposting something that has already been talked about. New to the forum and when I try to search keywords. Im link to all kind of other stuff. Also, beware, its a long post but I want to put as much details to eliminate back and forth replies.
So I got a 2005 Civic Ex from an auction, it had no keys. I found on ebay an ecm, immobilzer and ignition w/key combo for cheap vs. getting a key cut and programmed. Plugged that in, car started, on the first try (long crank but started). Tried it multiple times but still had the long crank before starting. As soon as I verified everything worked, A/C, radio, power locks and windows, lights, etc. I decided to clean airbox and filter and now car wont start at all. Just the long crank. Things I’ve looked at: main relays for fuel pump under glove box, they worked fine. Checked fuses for fuel pump under steering wheel; all good. Checked fuses and relay under hood, all good. Plugged a obd2 scanner but no codes popped up, but check engine light is on. Green key goes away within a few seconds so immobilizer is good. (plus it started before). Listen to fuel pump hum before cranking (hum is there, in sync with sound of relay clickinf under glove box. I have replaced coolant temp sensor. Cleaned EGR valve, diagnose cam shaft and crank shaft sensors by unplugging and trying to start that way. I unplugged cat converter sensor and try to start it thinking its a clogged cat converter. Still wont start. Things I noticed when I got the car from the yard. Top timing cover is off, relays under glove box were out. Im assuming the previous owner was trying to figure this issue out too. Also noticed it had no coolant. And when I first started it, I had it run for a good 3-5 min. Did not over heat or anything, no black or white smoke and it actually was running real good, idle good and engine was very quiet. I also noticed after plugging in scanner that the ecm I got with the ignition set was from a non vtec civic and mine is a vtec. Could this be a factor? (Mind you, it did start with the non vtec ecu a couple of times). I also tried spraying starting fluid into manifold and it wont start.
Need help as I am giving up. lol..I live in apartment complex and because its a non running vehicle, I only have 10 days til they tow it. Any help will do
