Advice Needed
I'm in the process of purchasing a 2012 Civic SI sedan with 132k miles. It will need brakes soon. Keeping in mind this is a daily driver, what pads and rotors would you suggest? I tend to avoid cross drilled after experiencing Cracking around the holes. Also what oil is best for the engine and trans? Is there anything I should watch for or know about?
Honda MTF for the transmission.
Brembo UV coated rotors are hard to beat! Pads to your liking. I do enjoy the hawk hps 5.0 pads but they do have a slow speed squeal and they are aggressive on rotors. Also I don't think Hawk makes a pad for the Civic Si front caliper. I went to TSX calipers to fix that.

They have a slightly different pad shape that is shared with more vehicles so Hawk makes a pad for them. The calipers I think are the same, the difference is in the caliper bracket.
Also just to clarify I am not playing with a 9th gen Si but I did use a crashed one as a parts and engine donor for my CR-Z. Started with the Si calipers and then wanted better pads and found I had to go to a more common brake pad. And as an additional bonus the TSX calipers have better spoke clearance for aftermarket wheels.
